DISC   Darebin International Sports Centre is a major community sporting facility within the municipality, and is the home of the DAREBIN CITY BOWLS CLUB Inc. 

We welcome all new membership enquiries.(New Bowlers - 1st Year Membership is free.) Activities range from bowling through to other social activities and are great for any age group. Other tenants at DISC are Cycle Sport Victoria and the Football Federation of Victoria.

The site has been used for bowls for 40 years and in 1999 officially became the City of Darebin Bowling Club.

Additional Information

The centre and velodrome, through its programs contributes to:

  • Participation and promotion of lawn bowls and cycling at the elite and community levels;
  • Improving the health and well-being of the community;
  • Provision of social, cultural and recreation programs;
  • Promoting and encouraging community based groups to develop and run their activities.

The Centre and Velodrome is a world class facility that will host the Australian Open in 2007

The facility includes:-

  • Four international standard greens (40m x 40m)
  • 6 Rink indoor bowling green
  • Meeting rooms, administration and office areas
  • Bar and function area and associated facilities
  • Sealed car parking to cater for major events
  • Indoor 250 metre timber cycling track
  • Change rooms and amenities
  • Central access tunnel.
The total cost of the project is $20m, which has been funded by the State Government, Melbourne Olympic Park Trust, Darebin City Bowls Club and the City of Darebin.
